Ducky here~ 
i was working on commissions but for some reason lining pisses me off cus i couldn't find the right brush so i started fucking around with this sketch of my oc and i'm just gunna leave this here for those who want to know
just in my opinion tho
Painting:
Pros: well for one; no fucking lineart and the end game looks fucking awesome like you're some fucking pro when you really aint. Also did i mention, you sketch can be a piece of shit and fucked up sex as long as you can see it because why the hell not, your colors are gunna turn it in to magic. And most painters tend to use less layers. the less the better so it's not messy and you know what layer is what. ANDDDDD one of my favorites- anatomy don't have to be perfect because it's the colors that really brings out the shapes.
On a side note, one of the pros for me was i can always smash whatever the hell i wanted in the sketch and make it look right in the end
Cons: i would have to say you really need to know colors and have a basic understanding of light and shadow and just like all colorings, even for painting theres styles like do you want a soft blendy look or a rough look where you can see every brush stroke clearly. Personally i like the hard look because it looks messy as fuck.
The Thingy with the lineart .. I don't want to say cell shaded because some people soft shade..? and do a mix of both
Pros: your sketch can be fucked up as much as you want because in the end you're going to make a lineart. Crispy clean lineart like omg. It's clean. it's organized. The end result looks like you're very patient with the process when you probly went crazy trying to make that line look straight. Did i mention you can spazz so much nice effects on it that, on the other hand might make paintings look weird and out of place?
Cons: Heh..sorry this is all my opinion but lining process can kill a bitch. Base coloring. Especially if you lines aren't closed omg you gotta outline all that shit. It would be a total bitch if the piece you're working on is very detailed. Everything during the lining process has to look perfect. Like the hands. You don't want that weird third finger.

I think they're all lovely, but there's something about the softness of the painted ones that makes me smile a little more. And the fullness of those cheeks!!
